Our government needs to transform our energy infrastructure in combo with private industry, the carrot stick approach must be used to make it cheaper to buy clean energy machinery and more expensive to buy old-fashioned polluting fossil fuels machines. Our power plants also have to be transformed. This has to happen from the top down. As for me, I do use a LOT less gasoline, water and electrocity than ever before. I drive much more slowly, combine trips, walk and bicycle more, turn off all lights and appliances when not in use, don't heat or air condition except in extreme cases, sun-dry laundry, don't use dishwashers, etc. I am an excellent role model, thank you very much. If the whole country did what I do we'd be off Arab oil in one week.
