McCain won't do anything with abortion rights and neither will any politician. The only abortion measure that needs changing is late term abortion in which the child is delivered breach, turn over with a portion of the skull still withing the canal. The brain is then entered from the rear and the brains scrambled. The baby does not threaten the mother's health at that point as they chose the most threatening delivery. So why kill the child?

That is infanticide.

I've been voting for Republicans since Pres Reagan's second term--even though I've never agreed with them totally on abortion. Hey, my husband didn't agree with me either on the issue when we were married, but we've both moderated our beliefs over the yrs. Today he agrees women's lives as well must be considered (and their bodies are private property), and I've come to understand that late stage and partial birth abortion are indeed inhuman. So, some restrictions to the right must apply. In the final analysis, other issues - like national defense and law & order - always took precedence in my mind over abortion.
