July 20th, 2008 7:34 pm John McCain is clearly a man guided by Faith. He helped keep morale up during those five years as a POW by reciting entire passages of the Good Book from memory! He and his lovely wife play a huge role in the incredible Non-Profit Operation Smiles that gives sweet children a chance at enjoying precious life. McCain has the courage to be at the forefront of the complicated illegal immigration issue perhaps in no small part due to his experience of living in Arizona. In this part of the country, one becomes aware that there is a Spiritual Connectiveness between this land and Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors once inhabited it -a connectiveness that Man’s boundaries cannot always define. A man of Faith can also easily recognize another factor at play: the human will to survive and provide for family. If John McCain did not recognize this common bond of all Humankind, he wouldn’t be the one leading the difficult discussion of addressing this matter. I believe such endeavors would fall under the underlying premise of God’s requirement to Love Thy Neighbor.
