It's not just about the drilling. It's about the infrastructure needed to support the drilling -- the roads, the houses for employees, etc.

It doesn't matter. It is a TINY piece of land out of nearly 20 million acres. It is totally without consequence.

It isn't like the freaking caribou are going to go anywhere else anyway.

I don't weigh it the same as you do.

Bring up your GoogleEarth and do a search for Alaskan oil pipeline, it will bring you to where it starts at Prudhoe Bay, and you can see ANWR just to the east.

Look around at the existing infrastructure. I don't see drilling in a 2000 acre plot out of 18 million acres is going to spoil anything.

If so, we'd say all of this damage you're concerned about with the operations at Prudhoe Bay.

Did you know most of the natural gas from the north slope is burned off because there is currently no way to transport it?

Here's a story from a college student who worked in Prudhoe Bay for a couple of years.

Hey, maybe drive your Lexus up there for a visit and report back?
