I don't think it's hard to trick the general public at all. Most people have no clue whatsoever as to what is happening. Ask your neighbor about Indymac and you'll probably get an answer involving car racing and/or McDonalds. You have to remember that the folks here are nowhere near the knowledge level of the general public. People here know that most of the analysts, who are supposed to be pros, are totally clueless, Heck, even the ex-CEO of WM was totally clueless! Many of us know who the scammers are too, such as Mozillo.
