But it looks like we wore out our welcome...

Fool. We didn't "wear out our welcome". We won the war.

It IS kind of ridiculous.

Any rational thinking person realizes that the ONLY reason we can sensibly pull our troops out of Iraq anytime soon is because we won the war the Obama and Harry Reid claimed was lost months ago.

We did the right thing in staying, but everyone -- including the administration, thinks a gradual withdrawal is now possible.

Obama has shown, time and again, he is incompetent with respect to managing this situation and he would have left Saddam in power to continue taunting us, to continue providing support for terrorists, to continue killing Iraqis.

Now, our military has run AQ OUT of the central front on terror.

So, yes, we could well be out by 2010. No thanks to Obama, who would have left the Iraq oilfields in terrorist control.

He's a dolt.

I'm sure the following has been discussed. Been very busy all weekend so no time to read the thread or the news. But it looks like we wore out our welcome...

Iraq official says US troops could leave by 2010 32 minutes ago

Like Obama wants....which has upset certain people on this thread....you know who they are.....to no end. There's talk of collusion, terrorism, incest, nepotism, Islam......you name it, they've tossed it out there.

Iraq's government spokesman is hopeful that U.S. combat forces could be out of the country by 2010.

Obama and Maliki are related; they go to the same mosque; Muslims stick together? Again those nameless people believe there is some tie in that Obama has cleverly hidden from the American public.

Ali al-Dabbagh made the comments following a meeting in Baghdad on Monday between Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama, who arrived in Iraq earlier in the day.

The timeframe is similar to Obama's proposal to pull back combat troops within 16 months. The Iraqi government has been trying to clarify its position on a possible troop withdrawal since al-Maliki was quoted in a German magazine last week saying he supported Obama's timetable.

The Iraqi government later said the prime minister's remarks were misinterpreted.

Coincidence that Obama and Maliki are on the same page? According to those nameless people, either they have been talking privately undermining the position of the US in Iraq, or Obama is a witch who can foretell the future. Take your pick.
