I just got off the phone with General Forrest, he said he didn't have anything to do with the KKK, he wrote an editorial explaining everything but the NYTimes refused to print it.

I do KNOW there was no link between the founding of the NRA and the banning of the KKK. I know precisely who and where the NRA was founded and it was founded by former Union Army officers in the north. Anyone who devotes a few minutes of research to the matter can determine the same thing.

When the NRA was founded and when the Klan was banned are irrelevant points.

Since the historical facts of the NRA's founding are so well-established and so easy to find out, Moore's preposterous claim about the NRA and KKK can't be anything other than a lie designed to fool the ignorant.

BTW: I recently discovered an box of 100 year old magazines. They were openly racist against blacks, and these were mainstream, magazines.

The fact that racism was widespread a century ago is irrelevant to the issue of the NRA.
