The NRA is a respected organization of responsible firearms owners - they even let Mikey Moore join. They support and defend the 2nd protection for self defense and responsible ownership of firearms according to law. They are in no way associated with illegal purposes and in fact have defended blacks rights against the KKK in the past from the very beginning of their charter.
