kt,

>When you are talking politics, you need fairness on the air waves.<

We have a different view on fairness.

I think fairness is giving everyone a chance to speak even if their views conflict with the mainstream, prevailing politically correct views, or the views of the ownership. Fairness does not mean that all views will be equally popular or even equally popular via every medium.

By that standard, the Times was unfair to McCain.

On the flip side, the left wing has had every opportunity to create and promote radio shows on the same radio stations as the successful right wing shows (and elsewhere) and still does. The problem is not one of opportunity. It's that no one listens. I explained why.

If anything, the right wing probably needs more exposure to reach balance and fairness. That is pretty clear based on the ratings of everything that is known to be biased to the right. The ratings are all super high. That suggests that the audience is still much less diluted on the right than on the left despite some growth in right wing media in the last 10 or 20 years.

The Times will not even publish the views of a presidential candidate. That's preposterous. That's why sales are plummeting and few take the paper seriously anymore. They turned themselves into a niche newspaper for left wing crackpots that already have plenty of other places to get their news.
