Nevertheless, Ayers tried to murder people as a political statement. If that was his intent he was certainly incompetent. Some do say the same of Bush and for that matter all conservatives. A few nutcases say all conservatives (the same proportion that say Clinton killed folks). But the Neos have legalized US torture... which has in some cases led to death by torture of innocent people. Now I'm not an expert on moral relativism so I'll take a pass on which is worse. The point remains that Ayres is accepted as an influential person in Chicago. It's totally unremarkable that Obama would have had some dealing with him, as does Mayor Daly on a regular basis.
