"protect yo ass-ets"

Presently sitting 75% in cash/bills, 19% in bullion and 6% in a couple of small dirts -- not ideal for all occasions, but what is

It isn't rocket science to glean from history and deduce what should happen next in this tragedy, but that doesn't mean everything will take place on schedule or as anticipated -- in fact, it probably won't

I want to walk a fine line here while the jury remains out on which way the US is going to go -- I don't want to be overly exposed to inflated equity prices if we tip into a deflation scenario, nor OTOH do I want to be sitting cash rich if we're entering into a hyperinflation. And then there's the whole issue of time frames, because with all the government tinkering going on, we could very well get a dose of one before we slingshot the opposite way into the other

Above all else I do not want to get squicked by some unforeseen government action or policy initiative, so while I stay as neutral as possible I feel obliged to continue to pay close attention to the markets even if I don't necessarily have my Johnson on the line every day like I did when I was fully invested a year ago. In that respect I was very fortunate to avoid the carnage of the past 12 months, and I'd like to keep it that way

It can be pretty boring at times, but I'm sleeping as well as can be expected for somebody waiting for the system to crater
