I think there are about 3 more shoes to drop... in RE, the equity market and assets in general.

That said... it increasingly looks like it will all end with SUV's full of money being wheeled to the store.

.... "when you're out of work, it's a depression...." Oh ? I didn't know that. Being out of work has always been a common situation. What IS the unemployment rate down there, anyway ?

I have no words of wisdom.! I fail to understand why falling house prices are treated as such a national disaster. You have the houses, don't you ? I fail to understand why "nationalisation" when desirable must be considered an "evil".

Moreover, I am familiar with America's penchant to exaggerate the importance of events, and to be fearful.. If the stock prices are any criteria, experience tells me things can get a whole lot worse.. they always do in a bear market . It's a pity it's all happening, but Americans are still enjoying a high standard of living... which might not be deserved and might change..... no great disaster there either... at least it's not going to cause me any anxiety.
