It's very interesting. McCain's one stock in trade right now (other than that he's the old white guy in the race) is the supposed success of the Surge. It keeps coming up in its most simplistic form out of the mouth of the corporate media.

I liked how he addressed the convergence of other forces (although he did miss the one about balkanization and I guess he couldn't talk about the current al Sadr stand down) that came together with the surge. Now if the corporate media would get a clue, this would seriously defuse McCain's screeching about the surge.

No doubt Obama can run circles around Bush/McBush but is he going to fight for nationalized health care and a left leaning SC?

Obama studied, remembers, and applies our history. He knows one of LBJ's flaws was taking and following advice of Westmoreland, and others, including Robert McNamara, rather than taking that responsibility and making those choices as C-in-C.
