Every column by krugman was an attack on bush and it was on every idiot. Many intelligent folks who are close to krugman in ideology stopped reading him because of his blind hatred of bush clouded all he wrote. Times probably asked him and Dowd who was afflicted with the same syndrome to tone it down because they were losing credibility with even the liberal readers. I got that from someone i know who works at the Times as is quite liberal himself. Even liberals realize when someone loses all objectivity and engages in vendetta type tactics and writes his articles filled with hatred. Like you chrissy.
