That's right, but it is not new info. This information was available 3 months ago.

A good question would be: How did STM managed to not lose money while Spansion and Intel lost bundles. Maybe it was because STM was a second source, and their R&D was lower. Also, it is possible that STM manufactured in trailing edge, depreciated fab(s).

Remember, the main reason for STM to exit flash (from past CCs) were the capital expense requirements to stay in the game.

Numonyx was in the planning stages probably for nearly 2 years. In that time, STM probably minimized the CapEx, so no new depreciation hit the income statement...

What are you looking at? I see (1M), i.e., a loss for "minority interests" in STM's report.
