Great post. I'm tired of arguing with them about it, but the article does a great job of debunking the claim that fascism springs from the Right.

Both Nazism and Mussolini's fascism are, at their cores, leftist. The article you posted does a far better job of making the point than I ever could have.

Finally, it is clear that anti-Semitism was not a defining feature of Fascism.

I'm quite shocked to see you endorse something so obviously true.

It was more a defining feature of Northern European culture.

It's fascinating to see you endorse the claim that the Spanish Inquisition, the Russian Pale, etc were justified punishment, rather than anti-Semitism. What crimes did the Jewish community commit to deserve this collective punishment? Did it involve blood rituals?

The reference to Christ notwithstanding, he was not personally a Christian

So Hitler's references to Christ should be ignored, but Hitler's passing references to the New Deal (undocumented by the author and thus likely fabricated) should be taken as prima fascia evidence. That's quite a kangaroo court your author is running.
