>>The possible future where such a loss of freedom can come to us here in this country is all too real. All we have to do is elect Obama and get a supreme court full of Ginsburgs and Kennedys. And lay down and take what they bring us. <<

ManyMoose -

Welcome back. Haven't seen you here in a while.

And please allow me to put your mind at rest. Obama will be elected, and will probably appoint one or two SC Justices, and the horrible, upside-down police state you are envisioning will not come to be.

I can predict this with great confidence. (At least the second part.) And you know why I can be so confident that "liberal police state" will never happen? Because liberals don't want that.

Never did, never will. Now, I'm talking about regular mainstream liberals. The ones who have enough political and social and economic juice to actually make a difference in this country. There are undoubtedly some very nutty Overly-Concerned-With-Political-Correctness types out there who might say something weird enough in a particular case that might make you think that's what Liberals want. And of course, Rush Limbaugh is always on the lookout to find a nutty statement to quote and a nutty story to tell so that he can say, "See? This is how Liberals are."

Except that we aren't, really. So relax. You have nothing to fear from Barack Obama.
