Once again the Republicans in Congress made a strategic mistake. Why not go along with the Demolibs and release some of the strategic energy reserve? If the price goes down a bit, fine. If not, push them like a dog to drill off the coast and in Alaska.

No, that would only let Pelosi and Reid off the hook uneccessarily. The votes are there for drilling if only a vote gets to the floor. Everybody knows it. 75% of Americans are for drilling. Every day they are against drilling is bad day for Pelosi and Reid and their respective caucases. But they can't be for it because they are in hock to the environmentalist lobby. What you propose would give them many days they don't have to be against drilling.

The mistake is not pumping oil from our 'reserve' but putting ever increasing pressure on McCain and the Congress to drill ANWR along with the off shore sites.

Pelosi and Reid need to feel this pressure every day. As does McCain.
