It was oh about 8 yrs ago now, I decided it was time to change jobs, probably for one last time.

When I did some serious looking around I was more than mildly surprised at how many ops there were in fuel cell research. And this was back then. Was not the best fit for me so I did not go there.

The present day power grid system reminds me a bit of the centralized computing system concept, widely used in the 80's. Sat more than few hours at one of those terminals, plugged into and plunking away, communicating with one of those clunkers.

I was the first in our whole department in that era to justify and obtain a PC. Following that it was almost comical, to see the attempts by the central computing departments to prevent the proliferation of PC's.

With PC's we have the power concentrated at the user end, we only communicate the grid, in general. Even for fairly high end computing.

A not so odd thing about technology, it keeps moving forward.
