Lindy,

Natural gas is a commodity that has responded beautifully to market forces. Supply has jumped in response to higher prices. Our current LNG terminals are underutilized. We need them as backup - but if the market is allowed to work LNG for the US is simply insurance - at a very high price.

We need to see if oil responds as well. If Peak Oil is here the market will only respond with price rationing and substitution.

Bob

>>I know the Greens are very much opposed to building any LNG ports in this country<<

I think it's more of a nimby thing, as opposed to the Greens. But Sempra Energy is building an LNG import terminal on the west coast of Mexico, and a pipeline north to California. The idea was that some of our Alaska LNG would be shipped down there.
