The 1964 Minnesota Taconite Amendment is a great example. The entire state was plastered with signs and bumper stickers that said "Vote Yes: Taconite Amendment". I'll bet DMA remembers this...

Exxon claims that the pipeline is not economically viable at the current time. I'm no lover of Exxon, but I suspect that may be true.

Panel OKs probe of Monegan firing

JUNEAU - Lawmakers will hire someone within a week to investigate whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in firing former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.

The Legislative Council today approved $100,000 for the investigation.

The committee wants to find out whether Palin was angry at Monegan for not firing an state trooper who went through a messy divorce with Palin's sister.
