I agree...has to be a comprehensive plan. Main goal to take us off mideast oil as much as possible. Then on to alternatives while crude runs dry in the next 50 years.

Have you seen the Pickens plan?

Why subsidize something that will come anyway as a result of market action?

Nissan is already set to release an entire fleet of electrically powered vehicles in the next three model years, starting next year. Don't you think their competitors will follow suit?

ANWR is just a stop gap measure. OCS is more important. McCain has stated that he has consulted with oil industry experts who say OCS can be producing within a 2-3 year time frame, which is adequate.

High gasoline prices are all the subsidy we need. It is all we ever needed.
