I haven't ruled this out as a possibility -- it is a tight race, but Obama could easily stumble and crater. He is so scripted and so incapable of talking sensibly when he is off the teleprompter, anything could happen as he has to face more of those moments.

>Algore was ahead buy much more than Obama is, but of course the polls were lying.

Really? I just looked at some polls from back then.

In early '99, Bush was up 6.

In late '99, Bush was up 16.

In April 2000, Bush was up 1.

In July, Bush was up 11.

Gore didn't take the lead at all until September, when he went up by as many as 8 in one poll but was only a couple of points ahead for most of the month.

In October, Bush was up 2.

So where was Gore up by much more than Obama?
