What we do know is that the US can no longer afford the war. Wars can NEVER be based upon the finance. Trust me, this one will be. You guys have broken the US treasury with your nonsense. Perhaps people have to go without new highways and bridges; maybe they need to go without the DOE of telling the local schools what is good for them. Maybe they need to do without Big Government destroying their lives in any of a million ways. I've got news for you. The war is ending But when a war needs to be fought, you fight it, and worry about paying for it later. That's exactly what is wrong with the GOP.....everything is on credit. Well we're about to get a president who pays as he goes. And his name is not John McCain. National Defense is the most single legitimate function of our government, and the framers made that abundantly clear. It is one of many important and legitimate functions.....not the only one. Thomas Jefferson also made it clear that a government that does much beyond National Defense is a destructive force. Leave poor Jefferson out of it.......you guys have made a mockery of his Constitution.
