The fact of the matter is that al Maliki's plan and Obama's plan are virtually identical. Despite the way that McCain is trying to spin it. You seem to realize that, else you wouldn't have tried to change the subject.


No, that isn't a "fact".

Maliki accommodate Obama, no doubt -- of course, he would -- he knows there is a chance he'll be dealing with him in the future, and he certainly would rather be dealing with a weak Barack Obama than a strong John McCain.

But the plans are NOT identical. Malik's position has been, and continues to be, that American withdrawal must be based on accomplishment not an arbitrary time line.

Because of the troop surge and for no other reason, a troop withdrawal in the next two years will leave a stable in Iraq. Had we done what Obama wanted to do, every credible military expert believes that Iraq would have been left in a totally unstable situation.

Everyone seems to acknowledge it but Obama and the rest of you on the hard left.
