And what gets downright bizarre is folks suggesting that now they will vote to continue the rest of the destruction of the country by keeping Bush sympathizers in office. --- Almost like voting R to keep the terrorists at bay

I don't know why anyone here thinks there's a difference between R's and D's with respect to these issues. There might be a few individual politicians who are willing to stand up and do the right thing because they know their constituency is able to withstand the pain. Most politicians, regardless of party affiliation, are not above pandering, lobbying, and graft. Now, if we're talking about pro-life vs. pro-choice, then you might want to split party lines, but that's not relevant here.
