Sarkozy is a right wingnut in France, which probably puts him and Obama at the same point on the political spectrum.

Sarkozy is about as right wing as the French get, and yet, he greeted him on the steps of the Elysee Palace as if Obama was a visiting president and they were old buds.

Sarkozy would be stupid to dis either candidate and wouldn't make such a foolish mistake. Obama has a 50/50 chance of winning the election and if he does, Sarkozy doesn't need any enemy.

ALL of these "world leaders" had no choice but to welcome Obama with open arms. Maliki took advantage of Obama's meddling and made a few negotiating points at the expense of Bush with the help of a naive presidential candidate.

This all blows over. Obama helped himself with the trip, no doubt -- but don't let your smugness get to you. We're talking about a 6 point differential here -- this can be closed in days once the media stops kissing Obama's ass.
