You would think that gun shows would have a few simple rules like no loaded weapons on the floor, period. Anyone know if that is the case?

I can't see any valid reason for a weapon to be loaded at a gun show, unless it's on a demonstration range away from the main crowd.

Accidents will happen. No matter what the rules are.

Rambi, in my 64 years, I've personally known of a handful of accidental shootings and, of course, have read of many in my small town local papers. But I've never personally known or even read about someone locally who thwarted a crime with their personal weapon....not a single incidence.

OTOH, I agree with Manny that the NRA weapons training efforts are good ones, and anyone can learn to own and use a weapon responsibly. I'm very comfortable myself with guns, have used them recreationally in target practice and skeet shooting.

I've killed to 'eat'....well, frogs only. Shooting frogs from the back of a pickup truck on top of the rice levees is a popular pasttime in the delta country of Eastern Arkansa. :<)
