But I tried the Atkins diet back in the sixties with a different result. I got the Atkins book that included both the Quick Weight Loss Diet and the Quick Inches Off Diet.

I didn't know Atkins published anything in 60s. His diet originates from mid 70s.

As far as gaining weight, based on what I have read, it is not easy to gain fat in absence of carbohydrates and excessive insulin.
