I like the evening cocktail or two and that is a no no when doing Atkins or any other diet I imagine. But from what I remember of the book alcohol is an instant source of energy and keeps the body from using fat as it's energy source which is the entire goal of Atkins. So now that you are an ex I would bet the weight is going to fall off much better then back then.

I too will have to give up the evening drink if I'm serious about losing the last 50 at least during induction phase. I think a drink was allowed after the first 2 weeks but it was going to slow the weight loss.

Flaxseed has virtually no net carbs. Its carbs are fiber. You could load up on flaxseed, too, although you probably wouldn't like the consequences... <g>

BTW and OT, re that carb counter website, are you running Adblock with your Firefox? I can't get the graphic--the contents of the blue box--when using Firefox3 with Adblock. There are a few sites where I can't get the graphics. I have to use IE or uninstall the Adblock from Firefox. What is your experience?
