I was going to replace my garage door this summer.......right now that project is on indefinite hold. Me too! And frankly I think the garage door opener was the greatest invention of the 20th century. See. There is no big secret why Home Depot's parking lot is empty on a Sunday morning at 9 AM. When I was in school the first time, I could never understand how a 2% increase in unemployment would lead to a recession. After all, more than 90% continued to be employed. Since leaving school, however, I figured out that its not the 2% losing their jobs that does the trick......its the rest of us who are still employed who are afraid to spend anything for fear of losing our jobs. That's what tips an economy into recession.
