You can object but the idea of having them go back and restate 4 quarters of earnings for one contract is not in the best interests of the business. In any case, it is not going to happen because to restate these earnings to account for this would be a major headache. They could just replace all of the attorneys that they were just able to fire with accountants to get it figured out. A better use of the money is to amortize this easily and significantly increase the dividend.

Whether they recognize some larger lump sum to account for lost royalties and then amortize some other amount over a longer period will make no difference to the business or to the stock price. The street only cares about the future not the past.
