May cost them more than 75, and/or not certain that they would have the production for some reason/ problem in production. And would then have to perhaps pay more than 75 to supply it when the time came. Its just cleaner and more certain to get it off the books at what they consider a great price. In their shoes I think you or I would do the same, as we dislike hedges and would be relieved to be clear of the thing. Only took it on to get the financing. And would be bullish on our metals and not think lead was going lower. Just my take on it, they may have had other motives.
