I thinks it's a political loser for the (D)'s to oppose drilling with gas prices this high. Nancy Pelosi is from CA, where it's a plus for HER, but not most (D)'s. As with gun control, it's a position that most of the public disagrees with them on. It just gives the (R)'s a wedge issue to pound them with.

I like Pelosi, but Reed should be sent back to the bench. The (D)'s need a new Senate majority leader.

In fact, Stevens's tactic received bipartisan criticism, including from Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), Susan Collins (R-ME), Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), and Mike DeWine (R-OH) and at least two House Republicans.

I think McCain is now for drilling in the ANWR.
