Raising CAFE is a gimmick and always has been. At any rate the averages are going to climb because the market is demanding it. That is the proper way for this to work. To ignore the supply side of things is so dangerously naive I don't know how you liberals can continue down that path. It's becoming obvious to any sane person that continuing to send 874 billion a year to people who hate us while ignoring our own resources is insane. Incredibly stupid. We need nuclear power, coal oil, clean coal, offshore drilling, ANWR or anyplace else there is oil, alternative and efficiency. Anything less then all of that is pissing into the wind or putting a band aid on a gunshot wound something you liberals are famous for.
