I am not talking about what we do, only properly defining the issue so we dont replicate the soviet experience in afganistan. We need the pakistanis on our side if we are to route out the terrorists in North Wahiristan. I can make the case now that we should concentrate on a successful outcome in relatively secular iraq rather than do more than we are currently doing in afganistan. Its pandering by the left to say we are missing the real war in afganistan. There is no stomach on the left for what that war can become.
