a 500 billion deficit changes every thing. All i would ask of both candidates is not to kill the goose by ignoring the supply side of the economy and the oil side of energy. Lets not get messianic about being anti-oil and anti-captitalist. Capitalism like democracy are imperfect but the only game in town as far as i am concerned, despite the warts which are all quite evident today. The goose is dead. We will have to go through some pain to get to the other side. We lost our chance to make this an easier transition 25 years ago when Reagan let the free markets chart our course.
