Kind of a vicious cycle. You have to be low cost producer to survive and potentially prosper. But in order to be low cost producer, you have to have the scale (capacity), and high utilization of your capacity.

Spansion is pretty much following the same formula, with additional wild cards:
- charge trapping technology, including IP), which will hopefully help Spansion prevail
- weak competitors (outside of Samsung)
