She does have a very nice voice and it is a good song. Heck, it's a great song for being religious.

Have always wondered how the participants on this thread sort out religious-wise. Am also an agnostic but lean towards Buddhism, at least in how to live life. :o)

Great song with some great renditions - Jeff Buckley, John Cale, Rufus Wainwright - all outstanding. K.D. Lang, however, is in a class by herself. Not only is this the best rendition of the song I have ever heard, it is one of the most powerful performances I have ever heard as well. She quite simply has a devinely inspired voice, whatever your sense of the devine.

Further, I couldn't give a rat's ass about her gender. She transcends such nonsense. Her performance is phenomenal. Thank you for bringing it into my consciousness again.
