I heard on the radio yesterday that there were no more car leases being offered because car prices are so low and end of lease buy backs are way higher. The average joe buying a 20k hybrid will have to finance it and pay $500 per month instead of $300.

However, the average age of a US car is 9.2 years as of 2007. And over 40% were at 11+ years. No inflation sensors on those. Probably no platinum plugs unless the owners put them in. In addition, dare I say, I doubt if most of them were top of the line vehicles when new. And they definitely need someone to make sure everything is operating properly like the PCV valve and the oxygen sensor(s).

Okay. My car is 9 years old and I was not aware that the above existed. No platinum plugs or inflation sensors on my tires. So when I forgot to check the pressure on my tires this past Spring, I saw a significant decline in fuel efficiency.
