No, but all the other long-winded crxp that you and others post on multiple boards all over the net, may very well be. I guess that's the question currently under consideration. Your opinions and mine may be of no consequence in the matter, but we can still express them. As far as "rabid hangers-on", what do you consider the constant basher-trashers for ten years to be, other than rabid hangers-on? As I've said before, some of US are only here to answer the BashBrinker jackal pack.

InvesTing,

Great post! All I can say to Bob Brinker is, now you've done it!

Where are you going to go from here -- now that you have chosen oil as your "exogenous event" to excuse the fact that your "timing model" completely missed the bear market -- if it doesn't pan out for you? LOL!

BTW: Here are some statistics from my latest Blog article.

Stock Market VS Price of Oil

(In edit comments): I have added Thursday's closing numbers. The S&P declined, and the price of oil declined. It will sure be interesting to see how we finish out the week.
.

* For the month of July, the S&P declined 1%
* For the month of July, the price of Oil declined about 12% (From July 1st to July 31st, the price of Oil dropped $17 -- from $141.43 to today's close at $124.18.)................

<<Does this person believe pointing out the truth about Brinker's calls is "defamation"?>>

--If bob's critics actually posted the truth, no one would be debating with them. But the fact is, they post a LOT of propaganda and spin, they lie by omission, they exaggerate his faults and downplay his successes. In short, they do everything they can to make him look as bad as possible.

When someone points out their spin, they often reply with a simple insult, rather than a reasoned response.

And, as we know, some of them have run message boards and kicked off those who were on the other side.

Whether all of this would be classified as "defamation" in a court of law, I don't know. But I think it could legitimately be taken to court to find out.

<<Because Bob Brinker says "Marketiming " is the best approach to investing, certainly doesn't mean that is true.>>

--This is a very poor argument, IMO. Just because the so-called "experts," many of whom have a vested interest in convincing the masses to stay in the market at all times, don't support market timing, doesn't mean it's not a legitimate endeavor.

Bob is not alone in the endeavor, as you know from seeing the ratings of market timers in Hulbert's newsletter.

No one ever said it was easy. But there is nothing wrong with trying, especially at certain times, depending upon one's outlook, and one's personal circumstances.

Even you have been known to do it.
