No way I'd buy a house now with mortgage rates at 9.5% and median prices above $500k. But don't expect prices to fall much in nominal terms as we have 200k plus immigrants arriving each year and already a housing shortage. Government responses seem to be to give more tax breaks to first time homebuyers rather than address the supply issues. It's nuts that we are independent country with the second lowest population density in the world (after Mongolia) and yet we have a housing shortage and some of the most expensive average house prices in the world.
