the issue is that (i) china actually knows it is a bluff, and (ii) indicated it will, if needed, call the bluff, but (iii) that doing so will not be good for anyone's economy, because (iv) the dollar printer will have been shown up to be without clothing, and so (v) advising team usa to change its tunes, else (vi) be embarrassed badly. in the mean time, with kmt in charge, the gravitational orbit of taiwan just got tighter. fact of the matter is, the most productive of taiwan is already wound tight on the mainland.
