Possibly there was a quid pro quo there. And likely Intel got their feelings hurt.

My >>guess<< is the payback was for MSFT to only support one X86-64 set of extensions.

CJ, > So what is the relevance to the EU vs. Intel?

The Pacific Research Institute study applies directly to the EU's hostile attitude toward monopolies in principle.

FPG dismissed that report as being funded by Microsoft, yet his dismissal is hypocritical unless he was on record dismissing AMD's testimony on behalf of Microsoft.

I was just taking issue with FPG's pick-n-choose "logic." We could discuss how Pacific Research Institute is nothing but a corporate shill, though. I noticed that Altria is also part of that institute's group of funders. Shall we open up that can of worms, or will that go off-topic?
