Here is a hint. There can't be any net energy gain. That would be perpetual motion. There is some heat produced, if anything by the fuel cell. And not comes out of the energy equation.

Uh, I got that. I'm not a scientist, but I did have 9th grade science in high school. It was JF talking about perpetual motion machines.

This is a way to store energy. Not produce it.

Right, and it takes energy to do it. So, is the energy consumption in the process sufficiently small that it is feasible to utilize the technique? We don't know, because they didn't say.

I really love the idea of some sort of a system to produce the energy needed for a household. Solar panels driving this improved hydrogen producer coupled with fuel cells seems to promise that. I just love the idea of 200 million households producing their own energy. I know I'd be willing to spend at least at much as a new car for such a system. I doubt I'm alone.

"Most of these schemes have a gotcha, and frequently it is that the net energy gain (if there is one) is minimal."

CJ, he wasn't try to understand article. He was simply trying to show us how smart he is. Now you've gone and ruined it for him. Shame.
