Why do the people who say they support unions and low-skilled workers, inevitably support letting illegal aliens come into to take their jobs and drive down their wages? It is liberal politicians who want to give illegal aliens drivers licenses, extend them government paid health care and educations for their children - thereby encouraging them to bring in their dependents, who declare liberal cities "sanctuary cities" where illegals can be assured of not being deported even if they commit crimes. It may surprise you to know I agree with you completely on this issue. I think the Dems push the issue for purely partisan reasons......they see an opportunity to get more votes. I don't like it. Its one of the reasons why I was registered independent until this year. So when it comes right down to it, you remain loyal to the Democrats even when you know they're wrong. Opposing school vouchers and school choice - yet another way liberals screw the poor. These are reasons people say liberals really just want to keep the poor dumb and dependent. What a crock........if we don't have a good public school system, the US might as well give it up. Why don't Republicans want a good public school system? Are they worried mandatory busing may force their kids to sit next to kids of color? And the party in the pocket of teachers unions really wants good public schools? Bull. They just want no competition for the sub-standard education they offer. The fact is our public schools in all our inner cities are virtually worthless. And the poor have no alternative ... thanks to Democrats like you.
