Dave will probably change his tune about the economy once Obama is elected.

Not at all.

I have long maintained that presidents have little to do with the economy. That includes Bush, it also includes Clinton.

But our economy today is not bad in historical terms. Unemployment is reasonably low, as are interest rates, there is no recession, economic growth is slow but we ARE growing.

The only real problem is the dilution of the dollar which is resulting from us having to buy all this oil. And Nancy Pelosi is on TV this morning acting like a freaking idiot about drilling. The bag thinks she is saving the planet.

The economy often is only so bad as the politicians make it. The Dems learned in 92 they would win an election by talking down an economy. Unfortunately, they have McCain on the defensive about it now so McCain is afraid to stand up and say, "Hell, it isn't that bad".

The economy is likely to get dramatically worse once Obama takes office. The heroic measures the Bushies have been taking to prop it up through November will have ceased. I see the Bushies just letting the economy tank from November until the door hits them on the butt Jan. 20th. It's just the kind of final FU Bush is noted for.

Once IN office, I hope Obama turns the economy around, but it's going to take doling out medicine America won't like. I only hope he can lay the blame on Bush, where it belongs, until our massive economy has turned. The accumulated damage from eight years of Bushie neglect may take eight years to fix. That's Obama's main task.
