this story is repeated almost elsewhere. South florida feeling enriched by real estate bubble showered pay raises and unprecedented fringes on the public sector parasites so much so that these useless bunch earn far far more than private sector slaves in comparable jobs. The budget deficit has these clowns cutting essential services and jobs lowest on the food chain. But the deficit is huge enough for the major cuts & layoffs in the upper echelons to materialize in near future.
