Megathinking was one of the BP problems = managers like to do BIG stuff. A related problem was slow thinking [corporate thinking and reaction times are notoriously slow and BP had that problem too].

Small companies have the advantage in those matters. A board meeting in a one-man band takes 5 minutes and then he orders the operations manager, himself, to order premium grade petrol from Singapore and bring in high quality fuel before BP Oil has trundled the idea through the first couple of layers of management, who of course shoot it down.

All good fun. Ah, the good old days. Now it's cyberspace for me.
