Need a clarification. So the Muslim workers will work on Labor Day, a traditional day of honor for all who labor, and not celebrate America's traditional Labor Day----they will then have off for their religious celebration days.

What's next, the Fourth of July?

Can you imagine some religious or non-religious group being told by the union or employee they can substitute their own nation of origin's birthday rather than celebrating July 4th America's birthday?

Tysons Chicken tasting a lot less tasty.

Remember if they take their alternative holiday and work on Labor Day, they are paid straight time. It isn't such a big deal. Many companies and agencies offer alternative holidays.

I know people who appreciated working overtime because other took alternative days.

However they cannot take the alternative day off if the place of work isn't open on the holiday they wish to use as a switch. They simply have the day off.

It isn't as great or awful as it reads and it isn't the entire contract you see there.
